Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised in San Diego. I have one child myself, who is 19 and in college now.
What led you to become a surrogate?
I got into surrogacy because of Christina. We were facebook friends (went to the same high school). I always loved being pregnant and was done having my own, so I thought "let's do it".
What made you decide to choose Dream Surrogacy?
I was friends with Christina and I trusted her because I've known her for half my life. She's a great person, very caring, very up front with everything so it was a no-brainer. I didn't even bother looking into any other place.
What is the relationship like with your intended parent(s)?
With 2 of the families, I'm still really close. We FaceTime and I get pictures every couple months. The other couple is usually just milestones. Either way, I'm good with any decision an intended parent makes when it comes to communication.
What are some high points of your journeys?
The best is the confirmation that you're pregnant. The second would have to be watching the parents hold their baby for the first time ever. It's amazing!
What advice do you give to others who want to become a gestational surrogate?
Just go for it! Don't think to hard about it. If it falls into place, it falls into place. If you think too much, you can talk yourself out of a lot of things. Overthinking ruins the fun!
What did you do to prepare yourself for surrogacy?
Mentally, I had to tell myself it's not my baby. Once I knew that, I was good to go because physically I was ready. Knowing the baby is going to a loving family and that it was all for a reason is what helped me most.
How has your decision to become a surrogate impacted your life?
I think it's made me a better person. I think when you do good things, good things happen to you. so it makes me feel good knowing I did something good for the world.
